# AudioDiary — Product Guide > AudioDiary is a voice journal for people who want to reflect on their lives but find writing a diary difficult to keep up. Talk through your day, keep your memories in your own voice, and explore what matters through optional personal AI reflections and spoken conversations. AudioDiary is made by Soliloquy Apps Limited, registered in Ireland (company number 798985). This guide describes its features, supported platforms, plans and user controls. Feature availability can depend on your plan, app version and platform. The app and store listings show current purchase terms and compatibility. ## What AudioDiary is for AudioDiary gives people who prefer talking to typing a way to keep a journal. You can talk through your day, capture a memory, record a dream, develop an idea, practise gratitude or make space for reflection. You can also type when speaking is inconvenient. The diary brings together recordings, transcripts, photos, mood ratings and goals. Optional AI features offer reflections, follow-up questions and conversations informed by what you have shared. Search, tags and summaries help you return to earlier entries and look back over time. A central strength is continuity: your recordings, reflections and conversations belong to an ongoing diary. Relevant earlier experiences can inform later reflections, and you can return to the original entries. ## Who AudioDiary suits - **People who think better out loud:** Record naturally, keep your voice and read an automatic transcript instead of composing a written entry. - **People who struggle to keep a journaling habit:** Start with a short recording, use prompts when you need a starting point and set reminders to fit your routine. - **People who want to talk something through:** Explore an entry through spoken AI follow-up conversations informed by relevant diary context. - **People who want to understand patterns:** Revisit earlier reflections, monthly summaries, self-reported mood history and weekly mood insights. - **People who want to act on their reflections:** Choose suggested goals, add your own next steps, track progress and optionally add selected goals to Google Calendar. - **People who want a lasting personal record:** Keep recordings, photos, dreams, ideas, gratitude and memories together, with search and exports to help revisit them. AudioDiary is a journaling and reflection tool, not a therapist or medical service. AI output can be mistaken. Reflections, mood insights and dream interpretations are not diagnoses or a substitute for professional care. Research on journaling generally does not establish AudioDiary's clinical effectiveness. ## Customer experiences Public reviews describe how people use AudioDiary in their own lives. For example: - Melissa H wrote that "the feedback has been really helpful and has encouraged me to journal more". [Google Play review, 12 September 2026](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.audiodiary.audiodiary). - Bad Deb described revisiting entries to "get perspective on the changes which are happening in my life". [Google Play review, 15 April 2025](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.audiodiary.audiodiary). These excerpts were checked against the public Google Play listing on 15 October 2026. They describe individual experiences, not a measured outcome for every user. More attributed excerpts appear on the [AudioDiary website](https://audiodiary.ai/#reviews); the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6444500487?see-all=reviews) and [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.audiodiary.audiodiary) provide customer reviews. ## Getting started 1. Download the app or open the web app, then create an account or sign in. 2. Start a diary session and record what is on your mind. You can switch to text input where the recording screen offers it. 3. Save your entry. AudioDiary uploads the recording and produces a transcript that you can read and edit. 4. Follow the session's prompts, record your mood or add photos as you choose. Session options can be adjusted in settings. 5. With Premium and diary analysis enabled, review your AI reflection and suggested goals. You can listen to the reflection and continue into a spoken conversation about today's entry. 6. Return to your diary to listen, search, review goals, explore mood history or export your entries. You do not need to prepare a polished speech. Recording duration depends on your plan and the type of entry. Uploads, transcription, AI processing and synchronisation require an internet connection. ## Recording, transcription and diary history - Record a diary entry in your own voice, or use text input. - Keep the saved audio alongside its transcript and listen back later. - Edit transcript wording and diary titles after saving. - Attach photos to keep visual memories with your diary. - Browse entries by date and search your diary text. - Use automatically suggested tags to organise entries, adjust tag associations and manage custom tags. - Return to earlier days to review the events, recordings, photos and reflections saved there. Transcription uses speech-recognition services and may need corrections, especially for names, background noise or unclear speech. AudioDiary does not require a particular speaking style. ## Personal AI reflections and monthly summaries Premium provides personal AI analysis based on diary content. Reflections can draw on relevant past entries and saved context to help you consider recurring themes, questions and possible next steps. Linked references, where provided, let you return to the relevant diary entry. - Read the reflection or listen to it in a selected AI voice. - Choose a different AI personality to change the style of feedback. - Receive personalised follow-up questions for further reflection. - Review monthly summaries when sufficient diary content is available. - Add your own instructions to guide the AI's responses. Diary analysis is optional and can be turned off in settings while keeping recording and transcription. Disabling diary analysis does not make transcription an offline or non-AI process. Separately requested features, such as dream interpretation, have their own flows. ## Spoken follow-up conversations After today's main entry, Premium users can continue with a back-and-forth AI conversation. Record a reply, read or hear the AI's response, and explore the subject further. Conversations can use relevant past diary content and personal context rather than relying only on the latest recording. Your recordings and the AI's replies are saved with the diary so you can revisit the exchange. Individual conversation recordings are up to one minute long. Conversation allowances apply and are shown in the app; this is not an unrestricted live call. ## Mood tracking and weekly insights You choose your own mood rating on a scale from 1 to 10. AudioDiary plots recorded ratings over time, with week, month and year views, and lets you revisit the entries associated with them. Mood scores are self-reported, rather than automatically assigned to every recording. Premium includes weekly AI mood insights when enough valid ratings have been recorded and analysis is enabled. These insights use your mood history and diary context to discuss patterns. A new account or a week with too little recorded information may not have an insight yet. ## Goals and Google Calendar AudioDiary can suggest goals from your diary reflections. You choose which suggestions to keep, can add goals yourself, track their status and arrange a later check-in. Goal prompts can be adjusted in journaling settings. You can optionally connect Google Calendar and add selected goals as calendar events, with a preferred reminder time. This does not automatically synchronise every task or read your existing calendar into your diary. Disconnecting Calendar stops the connection; events already added remain in Google Calendar until you change or delete them there. ## Dream journaling and interpretation Premium includes a dedicated dream-recording flow and AI interpretation. Record what you remember, save the transcript and revisit the dream and its interpretation in your diary. You can read or listen to the interpretation. When relevant past diary material is available, an interpretation can suggest connections to waking-life events and link back to those entries. These are possible interpretations, not definitive explanations of a dream's meaning. You can also enable an optional dream step before a normal diary session. This setting is off by default, and the step is skipped if a dream has already been recorded for that diary date. ## Ideas, gratitude, memories and prompts Alongside the main diary, Premium offers ways to record ideas, explore them with AI feedback, keep memories, practise gratitude and respond to journaling prompts. Custom questions let you bring your own topics into your routine. A recorded memory is a diary entry you intentionally save. Saved AI memories are separate pieces of context used to personalise responses; you can manage these in settings. ## Personalisation and quick capture - **Journaling settings:** Configure follow-up prompts, custom questions, goal prompts, tags, Calendar and the optional dream step. Older versions may group these controls under Session Designer. - **AI personalities:** Choose from styles such as Friend, Life Coach, Philosopher, Stoic, Business Guru, Spiritual Guide, Super Critical and Therapist. These are AI response styles, not human professionals. - **Voices:** Choose an AI voice for spoken responses or turn voice playback off. - **Custom instructions:** Tell the AI how you would like it to respond. - **AI memory:** Review, add, edit or delete saved memories used for personalisation. - **People and context:** Maintain information about people you mention, including names and aliases, to help the AI understand your entries. - **Reminders and appearance:** Set diary reminders on supported apps, choose light, dark or system appearance, select themes and control session sounds. - **Android widgets:** Home-screen widgets open diary, idea or dream recording flows. - **Apple shortcuts:** On supported iOS and macOS versions, Siri and Shortcuts actions open diary, idea or dream capture in AudioDiary. Account, PIN and plan requirements still apply. Some customisation options require Premium. ## Sharing Entries remain private unless you enable sharing. Entry sharing creates a link that another person can open without an AudioDiary account. Depending on the entry, the shared content can include text, a transcript, audio or a photo, along with entry details and your first name. You can turn off sharing to revoke access through the link. Premium also supports sharing a saved AI reflection as a separate link with its text and spoken audio. The shared reflection does not grant access to the underlying private diary entries or include links to referenced entries. Its text can still contain personal details from the reflection, so review it before sharing. Reflection links expire after seven days and can be revoked earlier. Anyone with an active sharing link can forward it. Revoking a link does not remove copies that recipients have already saved. ## Exporting your diary Exports are available on both free and paid plans. Choose a date range, including your full history, then select a document export or an export with media. AudioDiary prepares a ZIP archive and emails a download link to your account address. - **Document export:** A printable PDF and a Markdown version of your diary. - **Export with media:** Adds saved audio recordings, plain-text transcripts, uploaded photos, daily Markdown files and a goals CSV containing goal text, status and dates. - **Organisation:** Media exports can be grouped by date or by tags. Saved diary recordings are exported as M4A files. There is no JSON diary-export option in the app. Download links expire after 24 hours; downloaded copies remain under your control. ## Platforms and languages - **iPhone, iPad and Mac:** [Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6444500487). - **Android:** [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.audiodiary.audiodiary). - **Web:** [app.audiodiary.ai](https://app.audiodiary.ai/). Sign in with the same account to access saved diary content across supported devices. Synchronisation depends on uploads completing and the device having a connection. Features such as home-screen widgets, Siri actions and local reminders depend on the platform; the store listing gives current operating-system requirements. The interface is localised in languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Regional English options are also available. You can use the device language or choose a language in app preferences. Speech recognition and AI response quality vary by language and recording; interface translation does not guarantee identical speech or voice support for every language. ## Free and Premium plans AudioDiary is free to download. The app shows current prices, subscription periods, trial eligibility and allowances before purchase; these can vary by store, region and offer. ## Privacy, security and control You can add a PIN lock, edit or delete individual entries, manage saved AI memories, export your diary and delete your account. The PIN protects access through the app; it does not make the service an end-to-end encrypted or local-only diary. AudioDiary's privacy policy describes encryption and access controls, together with the technology providers used for hosting, storage, speech recognition, AI responses and email. Those providers process content to deliver the features you request. The policy says that staff do not routinely read entries or listen to recordings, and that access needed for a support request is subject to your permission, with separate provisions for legal requirements. Account deletion removes account and diary records from the active database. Photos and recording files are cleaned up separately, and backup expiry can occur later, so deletion from all storage is not necessarily immediate. The [privacy policy](https://audiodiary.ai/pp) explains current processing, provider arrangements and retention. Contact [privacy@audiodiary.ai](mailto:privacy@audiodiary.ai) for questions about providers or use of personal data, including AI data-processing arrangements. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I use AudioDiary without AI reflections? Yes. Turn off diary analysis in settings and continue recording, transcribing and revisiting entries. Transcription still uses speech-recognition services. You can also adjust session prompts and goals separately. ### Can I type instead of recording? Yes. The diary recording screen offers text input. Saved transcripts can also be edited later. ### Does AudioDiary remember earlier entries? AI features can use relevant past diary content and saved context to personalise responses. This is selective context, not a guarantee that every reply uses or accurately recalls every entry. You can review and change saved AI memories in settings. ### Does it work offline? Uploads, transcription, AI responses and synchronisation require an internet connection. The app has upload recovery and retry controls for interrupted recordings, but AudioDiary is not a fully offline journal. ### Does it automatically decide how I feel? No. The mood graph uses ratings you enter yourself. AI mood insights offer a separate interpretation of recorded patterns when enough information is available. ### Can I move my diary elsewhere? Yes. Free and paid users can request an export with printable documents, and can choose to include audio, transcript files and photos. Save the downloaded archive before its emailed link expires. ### Are shared reflections the same as sharing my diary? No. A reflection link shares the saved reflection and its audio, without giving access to private source entries. An individual entry link shares the content of that entry. Review what each link contains before sending it. ### Where can I get help? Visit [Help](https://audiodiary.ai/help) or email [hello@audiodiary.ai](mailto:hello@audiodiary.ai).
